HUGGIES® Baby and You Event and Giveaway

HUGGIES® and Loblaws have joined forces to give you good value and save you money at the same time! HUGGIES® Baby and You has some exciting upcoming events at Loblaws Superstore locations across Canada, running October 18th and November 2nd.


These FREE events will give you an opportunity to learn a few new recipes (for both you and baby) and about HUGGIES® *new* Little Movers Slip On Diapers (perfect for your little squirmer). You will hopefully take away a few new tips and tricks (and maybe a coupon or two) from the event!  Plus, each Mom (or Dad) will also receive a super cute pair of tiger ears for your little one...just in time for Halloween!

Since I realize that some of you may not be able to attend one of the events, or don't have an event taking place near you, I wanted to share one of the recipes that the HUGGIES® Baby and You team, lead by a President's Choice chef, will be teaching at the event: Sweet and White Potato Mash (perfect for your little one).


Sweet and White Potato Mash
Ingredients
1 White potato, peeled and diced
1 sweet potato, peeled and diced
1 clove of garlic, minced
1oz unsalted butter or olive oil
¼ cup milk – use breast milk or formula for babies less than 1 year old
2oz grated mild Cheddar cheese

Method
1. Pre-heat your oven to 350° F.
2. Put the white and sheet potatoes into a saucepan and cover with water.
3. Bring to a boil then cook for around 20 minutes, uncovered, until tender.
4. Drain the potatoes, and then place them in a bowl and mash with garlic, butter and milk.
5. Place in a baking dish and top with the cheese
6. Bake for around 30 minutes, until nice and brown.

Once my baby is old enough, I am planning to make my own baby food. I figure this is not only a cost effective option, but a healthier and more versatile option as well. When I start to make and stock baby food, the Sweet and White Potato Mash will be one that I'll be trying out.
