I am a proud member of The Green Team and my team mates include Stacey from SaySomethingStacey.wordpress.com and Reiza from OffTheSpaceship.blogspot.com.Our total weight loss goal for the challenge is 163 pounds. Each week, we will all be weighing in on our blogs to track our progress, our successes, our struggles, etc. I'm a bit late getting started so I missed the weigh-in on the 20th and yesterday. My Story
I have struggled with my weight now for a number of years now. When I hit my teenager years, my weight was all over the place. Now that I'm an adult, the fluctuations have stopped and I've unfortunately remained consistently overweight or obese. A few years back, I reached my top weight of 198 pounds. After that, I knew I had to make a change. Over the next year or so, I came down to 156 pounds. Since that time, I have slowly gained a bit of weight here and there and now I am back up at 173 pounds (as of January 9, 2010).
I would really like to lose the weight once and for all. In addition, I feel that I have even more motivation now since I would like start trying to conceive (TTC) within the next year. In order to have a healthy pregnancy, I would love to be at a healthy weight and get their naturally (eating healthy and exercising). My partner and I have discussed a pregnancy and we both feel that both baby and I would be better off if I started the pregnancy at a healthy BMI. After many discussions, we've decided to start TTC once I've reached my ideal weight - we've decided that magic number will be 130.
So, not only is this journey to help myself be healthier and to increase my self-esteem, but it is to ensure our future family starts off on the right foot.
