An Update and Winner Announcements!

You've probably noticed a lack of posts for the past week or so.  With the end of the year quickly approaching, my schedule has been a bit busier than usual.  I've been trying to deal with finishing school projects before term end, keeping up with work, and getting ready for Christmas.

Also, this past weekend we went down to the states (Fargo, ND) to try and find some good deals.  Although we missed out on a several great Black Friday deals, we did get a lot of our Christmas shopping done.  Plus, I had the chance to double and stack coupons at Hornbacher's and Sunmart (my first time).  I have to say...it was a lot of fun.  As for the amount I saved, I think I could have saved more (since it was my first time, I had a bit of learning to do and made a few mistakes along the way), but overall we did well - especially compared to what it would have cost up here in Canada.  I can't wait to go again!  Next time I'll be tackling the grocery stores that double coupons, in addition to CVS and Walgreens (I didn't get a chance to go to either this time around).
Today I will be announcing the winners of three (3) giveaways!

  2. Boy, this brings back memories! Although I'm from the east coast (New Jersey), I went to grad school in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and stayed on a year after I finished to wait for my now-husband to finish. While I was waiting, I waitressed full-time at a pancake house called Village Inn -- and so many of our customers were Canadians on their way through Grand Forks down to Fargo for shopping! ;-)

Heck, even WE would drive down to Fargo from Grand Forks for a change of pace -- and to go to the Olive Garden, since Grand Forks didn't have an Olive Garden at the time. (I haven't been back in a few years, so I'm not sure if they do now.)
