Let’s face it…Spas are expensive! Spa days are something that I am sure many of us wish we could do on a regular basis, but these days are often saved for special occasions. I found a great company called Mette Vangso that operates with the phrase ‘Treat yourself to a Luxurious Spa Experience’ in mind. Mette Vangso creates pleasure pillows meant to help you relax by using natural herbal flowers, aromatherapy, and organic buckwheat & flax seed filing, which enhances the hot & cold therapy effects of these pillows.
These pillows are so versatile because they have the ability to be both heated and cooled, which enables them to be used by a variety of different ailments. These pillows can be heated by placing them in a microwave (specific instructions are included with each pillow). Once heated, these pillows provide a deep penetrating moist fragrant heat. In contrast, these pillows can be cooled in a freezer to act as a soft and soothing cold pack.
These pillows can be used to comfort and sooth a variety of symptoms:
-arthritis
-stress/anxiety
-pregnancy discomfort
-breastfeeding discomfort
-shoulder strain/tension
-muscle soreness
-menstrual cramps
-flu aches
-lower back problems
-cold feet and hands
-neck pain, etc…
Mette Vangso has been featured in a number of popular magazines such as Glamour, Women’s Health, People, Brides, Pregnancy, etc.
If you are looking for a great Valentine’s Day gift, one of Mette Vangso’s pleasure pillows might be just the thing you’ve been looking for!
Review
This review is part one of a three part series. I had the opportunity to try one of these fabulous pleasure pillows. I received the Neck Hugger in Vanderbilt, which contains buckwheat and lavender and is good for both hot and cold therapy. Each Neck Hugger is 14 inches by 12 inches and has a soft suede backside to sooth your skin.
The first thing that struck me about this pillow was the absolute beauty of it! I love the black minky-type fabric that was used in combination with the soft black suede backing. The Neck Hugger is pleasing to both the sense of touch and sight. Another great feature of this pillow is it’s removable pillow case. Most hold/cold packs do not come with this feature, which makes it difficult for them to be cleaned. I love that if it accidently gets dirty or just needs to be cleaned that I can easily remove the cover and throw it in the wash.
I often have a sore neck (too much computer I guess), so I was really excited to try the Neck Hugger. I found that the Neck Hugger worked much better than the awkward gel pack I usually use to soothe my neck pain. Because of the size of the neck hugger, it easily wraps around my entire neck (back to front), instead of just skimming over my shoulders. This feature definitely adds to the relaxing experience of the Neck Hugger.
Another great thing about the Neck Hugger was the lavender smell (especially when it was heated). At first, I thought that the scent might be too much but I quickly discovered how quickly it helped me to relax. Even when I don’t have neck pain, this is a wonderful way to help me sleep better at night. For people who like the smell of lavender, this would be a perfect product. Unfortunately, my boyfriend wasn’t too fond of the scent so I have to use it when he isn’t around. Smell preference is really a personal thing that varies from person to person.
Finally, I was able to try the Neck Hugger out both hot and cold. Generally, I love warmth so having the Neck Hugger heated was obviously my favorite way to use it. With the heat, I loved that it was moist and provided the wonderful smell of lavender. I also found the heat to help relax my muscles better. I found that the heat of the Neck Hugger did last quite a long time. I thought that it kept it’s heat fairly well for about 30 minutes. For the cooling function, I thought that it radiated quite well. Even though I am not a huge fan of things that are cold, I do believe that for certain types of pain, cold is better than hot. I think that in the summer I will be using the Neck Hugger a lot to help me relax and cool down at the same time.
Overall, I am crazy about the Neck Hugger. I love it’s functionality and chic yet cozy design. The Neck Hugger is the perfect way to get that spa feeling in the comfort of your own home!

ReplyDeleteI like the Neck Hugger Vanderbilt in Black~! I'm not a big fan of floral patterns and I like the color Black plus this one looks softer than the others. I was in a car accident and have a torn rotor cuff and suffered a neck injury that still bothers me and this is something I could use at work. I look down writing and using a adding machine all day and my neck bothers me from holding my head in that position for so many hours and I would love to have this to wear at work. The heat would be so nice~! Plus since it's black it would go with any outfit :) Thanks for sharing~!

I would choose the eyecatcher in hard candy. It looks pretty plush and my tired eyes could use some plus.
