Cranberry Sauce

This year is the first year that I will be cooking a thanksgiving dinner at our house (this weekend for us Canadians). We only have a few people coming but with a new baby in the house, I sometimes wonder...what did I agree to?! But, with a new baby, I somehow feel like the torch has been passed to me and it is time to start having more special family gatherings at our place.

I'll be attempting to make fresh cranberry sauce because what is Thanksgiving without it? So, I thought I'd share it with those of you who are attempting thanksgiving dinner for the first time this year or just need a reminder. When looking this up online, I was surprised how simple it is! I'm pretty sure I'll never be buying cranberry sauce from a can.

Recipe from Food.com

1 (12 ounce) bag of fresh cranberries
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of water (or orange juice for an added zest!)

Step 1 - Mix all ingredients in a medium sauce pan.
Step 2 - Bring to a boil.
Step 3 - Simmer until berries *pop*.
Step 4 - Stir.
Step 5 - Chill until ready to serve.
Step 6 (the most important step) - Enjoy with family and friends!
