Mette Vangso Classic Review & Giveaway!

Let’s face it…Spas are expensive! Spa days are something that I am sure many of us wish we could do on a regular basis, but these days are often saved for special occasions. I found a great company called Mette Vangso that operates with the phrase ‘Treat yourself to a Luxurious Spa Experience’ in mind. Mette Vangso creates pleasure pillows meant to help you relax by using natural herbal flowers, aromatherapy, and organic buckwheat & flax seed filing, which enhances the hot & cold therapy effects of these pillows.

These pillows are so versatile because they have the ability to be both heated and cooled, which enables them to be used by a variety of different ailments. These pillows can be heated by placing them in a microwave (specific instructions are included with each pillow). Once heated, these pillows provide a deep penetrating moist fragrant heat. In contrast, these pillows can be cooled in a freezer to act as a soft and soothing cold pack.

These pillows can be used to comfort and sooth a variety of symptoms:
-arthritis
-stress/anxiety
-pregnancy discomfort
-breastfeeding discomfort
-shoulder strain/tension
-muscle soreness
-menstrual cramps
-flu aches
-lower back problems
-cold feet and hands
-neck pain, etc…

Mette Vangso has been featured in a number of popular magazines such as Glamour, Women’s Health, People, Brides, Pregnancy, etc.

If you are already thinking of a gift for Mother's day, I think any of Mette Vangso's products would make a relaxing choice!

Review
This review is part two of a three part series. I had the opportunity to try another one of Mette Vangso's soothing pleasure pillows. I received the Classic in Acacia. This pillow measures a total of 15 x 7.5 inches and is perfect for larger areas such as your back, legs, stomach, etc.

The main aspect of the Classic that I enjoyed was definitely it's versatility. To me, the size is great. In addition, I love the shape of it. Many heating and cooling pads that I have seen in the store are oddly shaped; either they are perfectly square or long and skinny. Neither of these dimensions are very useful and both can be quite uncomfortable. The Classic however is perfect! Because the Classic is long but still decently wide, it is much more useful. As I mentioned before, the Classic can be used on many different body parts. I have been getting a lot of use out of it for soothing menstrual cramps and sore backs. Additionally, even though the Classic is quite wide, it still works great for your neck; especially when you are laying flat on your stomach.

As with the neck hugger I tested from Mette Vangso, the Classic is excellent quality. The stitching is very strong and it is evident that Mette takes great pride in her products. I love the Acacia fabric that I received because the color is nice and bright, yet soothing and the pattern reminds me of a peacock. The backside of the Classic is made with a very soft navy blue fabric that coordinates well with the main fabric. This fabric almost feels like a type of suede. Needless to say, it is very soothing against my skin. In addition, the cover for the Classic is washable. This is great because you can easily throw the cover in the wash when it gets dirty or after long periods of use. This aspect sets Mette Vangso's Classic apart from the hot/cold packs on the market today since many of them do not have this useful feature.

To help you relax even more, Mette Vangso makes the Classic pillows with organic buckwheat and lavender flowers. As many of you probably know, lavender has proven to calm, relax, relieve stress and even heal different ailments such as anxiety and headaches. Lavender is great because it is a natural remedy that is safe for your whole family.

Finally, the Classic is approved and great for both hot or cold therapy. If you have one person in your house who likes heat and one person that likes cold, you can easily swap between the two options and make both people happy. Since I like warmness (I am always cold), the warmth is the type of therapy I enjoyed the most. Usually, I heat the Classic for ~2 - 3 minutes. Sometimes the Classic can get quite hot. To deal with this, I simply place the Classic in a light towel and it is perfect (not to mention the heat lasts for longer). I really like the warm of the Classic because it feels like it penetrates into yours muscles. I am not sure if it is the buckwheat or the lavender that gives this effect but either way, it is wonderful! In Mette Vangso's words, the Classic offers "a moist, fragrant heat."

In conclusion, this is another fabulous product from Mette Vangso. I love the Classic because it is so relaxing and very versatile. So far, 2 out of 3 products have been great and I am the third won't be an exception! I can't wait to review the next item: the Eye Catcher!

  146. I would love the classic in Amber's dream fabric. I want this pillow because I carry my stress in my shoulders and this may help. I love the fabric because it looks peacefull to me.

  147. I love the classic in Firefly. I have chronic upper back and neck pain from my job, which involves lots of awkward lifting during patient transfers, and a heating/cooling pillow in a big size would be great. I like the fabric because it looks so luxe and not at all medicinal or cheesy, as heating pillows so often to.

  150. I'd love to win the Classic pillow in the Nukumi print. I love the Japanese Sakura flowers of the Nukumi and the pillow would be great to relieve my neck and back aches at the end of the day. Thanks for the chance!

  151. I like the neck pillow in the Billy Button fabric. I teach 1st grade and by the end of the day, I always have a knot in my shoulders. I would love to lean against this pillow when I get home. :)

  152. I would choose the Eye Catcher with the Hannah fabric because I love brown and blue together. I also think having an eye catcher helps people relax.
    Thank you.

  153. If I won, I think I'd choose the Classic size, Four Seasons pattern, and definitely ask for the buckwheat and lavender. As for why that one, most of the time the upper 1/3 of my back feels like it's one large knot, and that size looks like it would cover most of that area, and be heavy enough to put pressure as well as warmth. And for the pattern, I pretty much like anything with leaves/flowers/etc.

  155. I like the Bon Voyage Classic. I like the idea of having it stretched across my back or achy parts. I like the colors, and it reminds me of a patchwork quilt.

  156. I like the Orange Blossom classic pleasure pillow. I am a triathlete with a spazzy back and use some sort of heat and ice treatment almost daily. I had a similar pillow, but my dog took it in the yard and ate it (:-(, so I am in need of replacing it.
