All Green Things Review & Giveaway!

When I came across a company online called All Green Things, the wide range of items they carried surprised me; many of items which I saw on their website, I had never heard of before. At All Things Green you will find items that help you reuse (e.g. bags and bottles), items for housekeeping, décor, the home, babies and children, personal care, pets, gifts, and even vintage pieces. In addition, All Green Things carries a variety of accessories such as jewelry, handbags, and apparel.

All Green Things’
number one priority is the environment. They are committed to helping you, their customers, find items that “have a low impact on our planet.” All Green Things believes that the key to save the environment is by teaching others about the effects our purchases have on the environment. They also believe that taking small baby steps towards our goal of a greener lifestyle is important. All Green Things said, “One small step such as a reusable bag incorporated into your shopping experience does impact their planet for the positive. This will empower you to want to do more, I promise.” All Green Things does their part to save the environment by donating 1% of it’s net profits to organizations that help the environment. All Green Things is part of a program called One Percent for the Planet.

Sometimes I wonder how the little steps I make even make a difference when many people around me are doing nothing for the environment. After hearing what All Green Things had to say, I truly believe that what I do does make a difference. Can you imagine if all the people who were doing small things such as carpooling or using reusable bags just stopped because they thought their small contribution wasn’t making a difference? I think everyone would be alarmed by the drastic environmental effects that would occur over a short period of time. Just remember, next time you do something for the earth, even though other people may not be, you ARE making a difference.

All Green Things
is proud to announce the opening of their brand new retail store in Woodland Hills, CA, which is opening in March 2009.

Review
I was excited to find out that I was going to have the opportunity to try out the small set of 100% Hemp Reusable Produce Bags in a Bag from All Green Things. I have been using reusable grocery bags for a while not but I didn’t start thinking about reusable produce bags until just recently. I started thinking…can you imagine how much waste could be avoided if everyone stopped using the plastic produce bags they provide you with at the grocery store? From time to time, I would not use plastic produce unless I absolutely needed to (for the items that would fall all over my cart otherwise. For example, grapes). When by set of Hemp Produce bags arrived, I no longer had to be concerned about this issue.

This set is great because not only do you receive 5 generously sized product bags, but you also receive a organic cotton storage pouch to carry them in. The organic cotton pouch I receive with my small set is 4” in diameter and 8” in height. Each hemp netted produce bag measures 10” wide by 13” high. These produce bags are breathable, lightweight, washable, durable and open and close with a drawstring. Because these produce bags are netted, the cashier at the supermarket will be able to see what type of produce is in the bag easily.

“Note: The 100% Net Produce Bags are lightweight but be aware that sometimes the bags will add to the net weight of a purchase. Produce scales in the store may be adjusted to only accommodate for plastic bag tare weight -- the 100% Hemp Net Produce Bags are slightly heavier.”

When I used these bags, I thought the size their size was perfect; they were actually much bigger than I expected them to be. I soon discovered an additional feature of the cotton storage pouch. This pouch is big enough to hold five hemp produce bags, plus a few of my shopping bags. It is great because I can carry almost everything I need in one pouch. This makes transportation a lot easier. It also makes forgetting my produce bags and shopping bags less likely.

All Green Things points out that these bags can be used for many different purposes, not just produce. Why not use a hemp netted bag next time you need to package a gift, bring lunch to school or work, or package items separately for travel.

I wouldn't change about the hemp produce bags. The only thing I wish is that I had a 10 pack instead of a 5 pack; when I am at the store buying produce, I often need more than 5 bags. However, I think this really depends on who is doing the shopping and what you usually purchase.

Overall, these produce bags are perfect for me. My favorite aspects are that they are easy to use and remember. The fact that these produce bags have a storage pouch really makes transportation a lot easier. Finally, I also love that the storage pouch for these produce bags is big enough to hold a couple of extra shopping bags. If you are looking for produce bags, I highly suggest the 100% Hemp Reusable Produce Bags in a bag from All Green Things. It is an easy step to going green and you will not be disappointed.
