Slanket Review & Giveaway!

It’s winter and it’s getting cold! Where I live, it isn’t uncommon to experience -40 degrees Celsius weather in the winter. Because of that, cuddling up on the couch with a blanket and a cup of hot chocolate or tea is often a nightly routine. Luckily, I found a great product that makes the traditional blanket even better. It is called the Slanket! The Slanket is a blanket with sleeves and a collar to help keep your body, your arms, and your neck warm. The large sleeves that the Slanket features allow you to operate the remote control, have a sip of your drink or talk on the telephone without having to escape the warmth that the Slanket provides. The Slanket is made from 100% polyester microfibers and completely non-piling! Finally, the Slanket is huge. It measures 60” x 95”.

The Slanket’s website tells an interesting story about how Gary thought of the idea behind the Slanket: “One subzero night in 1998 during my first semester of college I could not escape Maine's winter bite. While watching Late Night with Conan O'Brien I decided I needed to tear a hole in my sleeping bag so I could keep my upper body warm as I channel surfed during the commercial breaks. During Christmas vacation I commissioned the first Slanket to be made by my mother...and it was born.”

Review
I had a chance to try out the Slanket for myself. As I mentioned before, I am a big fan of blankets in the wintertime so when I first saw this, I knew I would love it. The Slanket is a wonderful alternative to the traditional blanket. My favorite aspect of this blanket definitely has to be the sleeves. This really makes multitasking (plus staying warm) so much easier. I also love how large the Slanket is. It can easily accommodate almost anyone (even people who are over 6 feet). Another great thing about the Slanket is that it is made from 100% polyester microfibers (kind of like fleece) which makes it super soft! Finally, I like that this can be used as a regular blanket as well. I used this one night as an extra blanket on my bed and it worked great. It was very warm.

Overall, this is a wonderful product that definitely be keeping me warm this winter!
