Michelle Chang Jewelry Review & Giveaway

Recently, I came across a beautiful Etsy shop called Michelle Chang Jewelry. The first thing I noticed about this store was the huge variety of heart necklaces that she offers (I have always been a fan of heart pendants). Once I started looking a bit more through her store, I realized that she has something for almost everyone. Michelle Chang Jewelry offers simple modern pieces made from gold, sterling silver, diamonds, and semi-precious stones that will surely remain ‘in-style’ for years to come!

Michelle told me a bit about herself and her store:
“I grew up in NYC and studied fine art as an undergrad at Cornell. I went into design and worked as an interior designer in NYC, France, Korea, and Japan. I returned to the states, went back to school, and got another degree at SF Academy of art. After that, I returned to NYC and became a freelance illustrator but about 3-4 years ago, I started taking classes in metalworking and became fascinated with working with my hands again. I always loved sculpture in college. That's how I got into jewelry making. Currently, I have a bench that I've set up in my home but I plan to expand into retail stores; hopefully, I'll get a separate studio in the near future. Etsy has been a great jumping off point for my jewelry. My designs tend to lean towards more delicate rather than big and heavy. I work primarily with gold and silver and I hope to incorporate more semi-precious and precious stones into the line. I'm working on pieces that are more complex but for now, I'm emphasizing on offering pieces that are somewhat on trend but not so trendy that one can't wear the pieces for many years. I'm inspired by both symmetry/geometry and nature.”

Review
I had a chance to review a beautiful Baby Heart Necklace in 14K Gold and Silver from Michelle Chang Jewelry. Let me tell you…it is the most precious, delicate necklace I have ever set eyes on. As soon as I saw it, I was smitten. This necklace contains a tiny heart (flat in shape) in 14K yellow gold. The heart measures only ¼” long and it is attached to a 16” sterling silver chain. I find the length of the chain perfect because it sits perfectly in the dip of my neck between both collarbones.

Michelle Chang Jewelry enjoys working with her customers to offer a customized experience. She also offers the Baby Heart Necklace in complete, sterling silver or 14K gold, with alternate chain lengths, a box chain or a thinner delicate chain. All these choices are available upon request. For my review necklace, I picked to receive the thin delicate chain. For me the size of the heart, combined with the delicacy of the chain is what makes this necklace stand out to me. The necklace is so beautiful, simple and almost weightless. I love that you can wear this necklace yet it feels like you aren’t wearing it at all. Finally, this necklace is perfect because it can be worn with absolutely anything. It can be worn casually on a daily basis or used to dress up an outfit. Overall, I am crazy about this necklace as well as her store. I will definitely be putting a few of her items on my Christmas wish list!
