Kay (owner of The Little Treehouse) started her shop shortly after her daughter was born in 2006. With the birth of her daughter, she soon realized the importance of becoming an environmentally responsible consumer. She is a firm believe in taking precaution when choosing items for her daughter – they must be completely free of harmful chemicals. Her store reflects this vision. Kay said, “My goal is to provide parents with high quality organic textiles, lots of information about who produced it and how, detailed product descriptions and size ranges, upfront shipping information, and of course fun and funky colours and designs when appropriate.”
Review

Kay offered to send me one of the items that the Little Treehouse sells to see first hand the type of products she offers. I received an organic cotton rattle (the cat) from Keptin Junior’s Baby&Post collection, which is shown in the picture to the right. This cute organic rattle is made with 100% certified organic cotton and is fair trade (made in Lithuania). It is 9” long, which makes it a great size for little hands and perfect for cuddling.
The aspect that I loved most about this rattle was the fabric. The backside of the rattle (the cat’s back) is made from a soft terry cloth fabric. The other side is made from an extremely soft and cuddly cotton that feels like velvet or velour. Also, when the fabric gets dirty, it can easily be hand washed and hung to dry.
In addition, this rattle is wonderful because not only does it have a rattle, but it also has a wonderful squeaky toy in the middle of it (the cat’s stomach). The hands and tail on the rattle have knots to amuse curious little hands. This organic cotton rat is a perfect gift for any baby and even comes packaged with a cardboard envelope to make it easy for sending to loved ones or to package and wrap.
The only thing that could be improved in this only store is the amount of information they give about the products they sell. I would love to see them include specific information about the manufacturer that creates the items that they are selling.
How many winners will there be? Two.
What can you win? Each winner will receive a $20 gift certificate for the Little Treehouse.
To enter, visit the Little Treehouse, then come back here and tell me which item you would love to buy if you win. If you mention the organic cotton rattle, it will not count as an entry.
